The highlight is West Palace Cave, a level 60 team dungeon with four bosses, exclusive boxes, six new quests and two T2 pieces that drop nowhere else. Alongside come a tougher Assassin and the Super Skills on the way.
This update ships an entire dungeon, fifteen new items and three new icons. Open the launcher and let it finish downloading before you log in. Without it the dungeon may not open, the new items will show a broken icon and the quests may not list properly — even though it is all live on the server.
Monks and Assassins with Premium take half the damage inside any dungeon
The classes that hold the front line were paying dearly for the new dungeon. Instead of weakening the bosses — which would change the dungeon for everyone — Premium now absorbs part of the blow, and only for those inside. Outside dungeons nothing changes, and PVP is untouched everywhere.
| What | Before | Now |
|---|---|---|
| Monk and Assassin, inside a dungeon | Took the full hit | Take half the damage |
| Where it applies | — | Any dungeon — West Palace, SSC, Spider Catacomb and the rest |
| Outside dungeons and in PVP | — | No change at all |
| The rest of Premium | — | Unchanged: damage against monsters, experience, energy, gold, double pet experience and faster recovery out of combat |
Healing on upgraded Fairy weapons was doubled, but the item text kept showing the old value — meaning Fairies were already healing twice as much and nobody knew. The text is now fixed across all 60 weapons. Nothing changed in the effect: the number you see is finally the real one.
| What | Before | Now |
|---|---|---|
| Upgrade +1 | Showed half | Shows the real value |
| Up to upgrade +5 | Showed half | Shows the real value |
| How many weapons | — | 60, across the Blue and Golden lines |
Players who were being hit by another player and closed the client to dodge death got away with it. Now, closing right after being hit by a player counts as a real death, with the usual rules — including the drop going to the attacker. Being hit by a monster does not count: if your connection drops while farming, you lose nothing.
| What | Before | Now |
|---|---|---|
| Closing after being hit by a player | Got away unpunished | Counts as a death |
| Closing after being hit by a monster | — | Does not count — nothing happens |
A brand new dungeon, built to be played by a team of up to 5. The bosses accept stun and slow, just like the Drakantos Farm ones, so a Monk holding aggro and a Fairy healing genuinely matter here. The entrance NPC stands in Stone City, right next to the Shopman.
| What | Before | Now |
|---|---|---|
| Level to enter | — | 60 |
| Party size | — | Up to 5 players |
| Where the entrance is | — | Stone City, beside the Shopman |
| What lives inside | — | 7 mob types, 3 Generals and 4 bosses |
| The 4 bosses, in order | — | Zhang Er → Qiu Sher → Yu Yi → Zoo Duo |
| Gold per mob | — | 5 gold |
| Gold per General | — | 100 gold |
| Gold per boss | — | 500 gold |
| Exit | — | Puts you back in Stone City, next to the entrance |
| Weapons in the drop | — | None. Weapons keep dropping in the other dungeons |
Difficulty climbs boss by boss: the first is the lightest and Zoo Duo is the ceiling. The bosses also gained three new attacks, one of them area-wide and another that stuns.
Each boss makes several independent rolls per kill — in the style of the Drakantos Farm 6-hour bosses, where a lot comes at once. All four share a common base, and each adds its own part. Zoo Duo is the only one that drops all four cave boxes, the Forger and Farm chests, and the Drakantos Revitalizing.
Reward Stone, the level 57 ring, the level 59 amulet and the large gems come on every kill. The boxes and the rare items depend on luck — and as always, the chance of each is not published.
Four boxes exclusive to West Palace. Each one hands out a single prize, drawn from the options below — nothing is guaranteed, and the 3 and 5 piece versions are the hardest to see. All of them carry a consolation prize, so a box is never empty.
The Territory Coin comes only from the Soul Bell Box. Until now it came from holding the Drakantos Territory or from the Timekeeper — this is the third path.
Two new pieces, and neither one is for sale. They come inside a box that only drops from the West Palace bosses. They last 7 days, and after that they need renewing with the Drakantos Revitalizing.
| What | Before | Now |
|---|---|---|
| How to get one | — | By opening the box that drops from the 4 West Palace bosses |
| When the time runs out | The expired item stayed equipped and kept giving stats | It comes off on its own, with a chat warning, and goes to your bag |
| Where to renew | — | With the Entrance West Palace NPC, in Stone City |
| What the renewal costs | — | The expired piece + 1x [Drakantos Revitalizing] + 10x [Large Emerald] + 10x [Large Ruby] + 3,000 gold |
| Can the renewed piece be traded? | — | Yes. It dropped in the dungeon, so it is yours to sell or trade |
The idea is to keep the piece circulating: whoever farms the dungeon gets another, and whoever does not can buy from those who do. That is why the T2 is not bound.
The entrance NPC holds four daily quests, on top of the two renewal ones. All of them give Residual Shadow, the material for the Drakantos Ring and Amulet — until now it only came guaranteed from the Spider Catacomb daily.
| What | Before | Now |
|---|---|---|
| Clean Up West Palace | — | Clear mobs and Generals → 2x [Residual Shadow] |
| Battle in West Palace | — | Take down the first 3 bosses → 3x [Residual Shadow] |
| Slay the Zoo Duo | — | Take down the last boss → 5x [Residual Shadow] |
| Zoo Duo Daily | 2x [Large Ruby] and 1x [Competition Bonus Pill (1000)] | 2x [Large Ruby], 2x [Large Emerald] and 1x [Competition Bonus Pill (1000)] |
| How many times a day | — | Once a day, each |
| Daily quest rewards | Came unbound, could be handed to someone else | Comes bound to the character, like every other daily |
Every daily in Drakantos comes bound — this dungeon is no exception. What is not bound are the renewed Pants T2 and LuckyStar T2: they dropped in the game, and they stay free.
The Super Skills are on the way
Twelve skills that had been given area damage are back to the game's original behaviour. This was not a cut for the sake of cutting: area damage is coming back through a better route — the Super Skill row, tied to the weapon you carry. It is being built right now.
| What | Before | Now |
|---|---|---|
| The 12 area skills | Hit several targets | Back to the original single target |
| Super Skill | Did not exist | Its own row, granted by the weapon — in development |
Super Skills are the extra row on your bar, granted by the weapon you carry. Each class will get its own. That is where area damage is going to live for real.
The Monk has always had the biggest defense multiplier of the five classes, which is why he is the one who tanks bosses. The Assassin was left too exposed whenever he had to take a hit.
| What | Before | Now |
|---|---|---|
| Assassin armor | Base physical defense | All 184 pieces gained physical defense |
| Mercy and Improve Mercy (Monk) | Pulled less of the boss's attention | Pulls much more — it is the skill that keeps the boss in place |
| The Mercy description | Showed a value that was never the real one | Shows the value actually running |
| What | Before | Now |
|---|---|---|
| Drakantos Pill | Was created doubled every time | Comes in the right amount |
| Dungeon entrance NPC | Showed level "??" | Shows level 60 |
| The link to enter the dungeon | Showed a translation code instead of the text | Shows "Enter West Palace Cave" |
| Expired timed item | Stayed equipped giving stats forever | Comes off on its own and warns you in chat |
| Shortcut bar tab | Hid the whole group instead of the button | Shift+1 and Shift+2 switch tabs properly |
The values on this page are the ones running on the server. The chance of each drop is not published, and never will be — what we publish is what can come out. Found something odd after the update? Report it and we will look into it.
